Departures — a time travel agency is a free online Simulation game that runs right in your browser. There is nothing to download and no account to create: press Play and you are in. It works on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile.

Run a time travel agency from a split-flap departures board. Every line goes further back: the Apollo 11 launch, the night the Eiffel Tower opened, Florence in 1504, the Ides of March, the Great Pyramid, the painted cave at Lascaux and the last afternoon of the dinosaurs. Tap DISPATCH and a train crosses the era's railway poster to bring its fares home; every car you buy is a carriage on that train, and every 25th makes the line an express. Hire Katherine Johnson, Gustave Eiffel, Leonardo, Sosigenes, Hemiunu, the Lascaux painter and Mary Anning to run the lines for you, fit them with first class, dining and observation cars, and keep earning while you are away. About an hour and a quarter in, Georges Lemaître conducts the last train, one way, to the Big Bang. Saved in the browser; progress from the old agency carries over.

How to play
